Abstract: Although it has not been officially announced yet, it appears that Bobby Petrino will be headed to Arkansas. The deal is estimated to be for about $3 million a year, which means he'll be taking a pay cut to return to the college ranks.

Abstract: Houston Nutt has a problem in Fayetteville. He’s been through a tumultuous off-season in which several highly recruited players exited after their freshman year. It also included the exodus of Gus Malzahn, the offensive coordinator now at Tulsa. All this would’ve been well and good if the Razorbacks were winning. The Hogs have a lot of talent and were expected to be competitive this season. They have been but they have been unable to finish games. The current two game losing streak resulted from two teams beating the Razorbacks in the fourth quarter.

Abstract: Marcus Harrison returns to practice following an indefinite suspension for being arrested for drug possession. Coach Houston Nutt has not said if Harrison would play in the SEC opener at Alabama. The Razorbacks have an open date Saturday, but Harrison will likely make the trip to Tuscaloosa.

Abstract: Arkansas again opens the year with Trojans at home except this time the Trojans aren’t from Southern California. This year they come from southern Alabama, more specifically Troy University. Though these Trojans may not be as talented as those from Southern Cal, they still pose as a formidable opponent.
